Colin Hancock BPhty, MPNZ, MSEPNZ,
With 20 years experience working with injuries from head to toe and everything in between, there is little Colin has not seen in physiotherapy practice. Colin has been a practicing physio in Taupo since April 2012 and has strong relationships with sports clubs and organisations within the Taupo and King Country region.
Colin has a particular interest in gym-based rehabilitation. Other techniques include manual therapy, acupuncture, strapping, and bio-mechanical analysis and correction. In addition, Colin is highly skilled in managing acute concussion injuries, and vertigo, dizziness and balance issues using evidence-based approaches. Colin takes an integrative approach to achieving optimal recovery for his patients, and regularly incorporates positive psychology and collaboration with other Taupo- and regional-based health providers into his physio treatment plans.
Colin regards ongoing professional development as necessary to provide the best service to his patients, and to practice physiotherapy according to evidence-based research. He is studying towards the post-graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy from Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy NZ. Colin's interests include rugby (particularly as a sports physio), mountain biking, swimming and trail running, as well as maintaining involvement in a range of community activities within Taupo.
Colin established Great Lake Physio in 2018 to be an independent provider of physiotherapy services in the Taupo region.
